Game Time

Good Morning Grade 7/8's,

Here is a really cool game to help you master Order Of Operations (BEDMAS). Are you ready? Who wants to be a millionaire?!

In case you were wondering this is the Ontario Curriculum math expectation that aligns to this game

MA.7.2.3.6

By the end of Grade 7, students will: evaluate expressions that involve whole numbers and decimals, including expressions that contain brackets, using order of operations;

Learning through GAMES?

Hello again students, and parents,

Students guess what we will be doing today!? Can you use your reading and decoding skills to look for clues in the text? That's right learning through games!

To complete this activity you will need to recall information from our last social studies class to the provinces and territories of Canada.

When you are ready proceed to the game and begin playing. Please ensure you are playing in the practice mode only with the labels off. Once you feel like you have a good handle on this feel free to progress throughout the study, test and strict test levels.

Parents, have no fear this seamless integration of technology within the classroom is up to snuff with the ministry standards. From the social studies curriculum for grade 2
SOC.2.2.2.1
By the end of Grade 2, students will: recognize that the world is made up of countries, continents, and regions, including Canada in the continent of North America;  

In simple terms this means the students should be able to identify the regions of Canada, which is located in North America (we covered this in a previous class). To identify the regions (provinces and territories), students will work through this game to ensure they are familiar with where the provinces and territories are. Then when they are ready they can increase the difficulty of the game. (remove lables, colours, and the help features.

My Favourite Most Frequented Sites

Howdy pupils,

You may not believe it but your teacher is a person too! Want to get to know me better or take a glimpse of my interests look no further. My favourite sport is motocross, I usually check Racer X Online or Pulp MX for the latest updates, there are other sites but these are the best in my opinion. For local news updates I check the Niagara Falls Review always nice to keep updated on local events and information. The website I frequent every morning helps me decide what I am wearing. Not sure if it is going to rain or shine? Or if it will warm up later in the day? Check out The Weather Network for local, national or international weather. This is great for looking at the warm Florida temperatures and dreaming during our long winter!

Hello again students!

Remember those handy resource posts I mentioned in my welcome post? Here is the first resource I suggest you get comfortable using. The Google Search Engine is a great tool for finding almost any information you might need to complete assignments. Be careful how you use Google, those of you who are new to using this resource might want to check out this INFO-GRAPHIC on tips to effectively search for information on Google.
